The Healing Benefits of Traditional Thai Massage

Thai massage
, also known as Nuad Phaen Boran, is an ancient massage that involves not only deep muscle massage, but stretching, elements of shiatsu, yoga, and acupressure as well. Nuad Phaen Boran actually translates into “ancient massage” or “traditional massage.”

Traditional Thai massage has been practised for over 2,500 years. It not only relaxes the body, but the mind as well. It actually began in India. The Buddhist monks practised both massage and other healing arts. This spread to families and as Buddhism spread to Asia, the traditional Thai massage became a part of both the religious and healing part of the religion. It is believed that traditional Thai massage made it to Thailand around the 3rd or 2nd century BC. Many times, monastery temples were built near medical schools so the art of massage was taught among both monks and medical students.

Traditional Thai massage focuses on the experience of the whole body. It works on the major energy lines, known as ‘Sen’. These Sen run throughout the body. By loosening blockages, the massage will help harmonize the body and recoup any deficiencies of the energy lines. Just as Chinese medicine uses acupuncture to help revive health, traditional Thai massage uses a similar system of pressure points to help heal and relieve stress. The Prana, or life energy, is allows to freely circulate through the body.

Traditional Thai massage has many benefits. Whether you are the receiver of the massage or the giver of the massage, you can feel joy, ease, and comfort. The massage will open up your chakras, allowing you to have a more peaceful mind as well as benefiting your health.

The giver of the traditional Thai massage also will receive generosity, compassion, equanimity, the feeling of oneness, the feeling of loving kindness, and the pride that can only be felt by a healer. The receiver will feel the joy of receiving as well as a calmness of rest and a refreshed spirit. Physically, the receiver feels a general increase in energy due to the opening of Sen and other blocked areas in the body. They will also feel relief from pain and muscle tension, blood and lymph circulation is improved, and the nervous system is balanced. An increase in flexibility is also possible.

Traditional Thai massage is a floor massage. The receiver usually is asked to lay on a pad or light mattress. By lying on the floor, the practitioner can easily manipulate the limbs of the receiver. Massages are given in silence, so the practitioner can better understand what the receiver needs are while the receiver can concentrate on learning about himself and his body. Practitioners start at the feet and moves toward the receiver’s head, making the body feel loosened and stretched. A massage can last between two and three hours. Sometimes it combines techniques used in western physical therapies such as Neuromuscular therapy, Myofascial Release Techniques, and Remedial massage. Traditional Thai massage is great for athletes as it keeps them flexible and helps prevent and treat injuries. It also helps improve the flexibility and mobility of the handicapped.

Aerobic Exercises - Worth Doing or Not?

Some people use aerobic exercise as a warm up exercise before they move on to their real workout such as lifting weights, using dumbbells and stuff like that. What they don’t realize is that doing these other exercises without combining it with some sort of aerobic exercise they will not be able to get the full benefits such as the muscle strength required to lift those dumbbells or other heavy weights. Lifting weights without using regular aerobic exercise may also affect the flexibility of your body. Aerobic exercises are usually geared to strengthen muscle and endurance and also improve flexibility for better body movement. Without these three important attributes you will not be able to benefit fully from any exercise program you chose.

In weight training which is basically a form of isotonic exercise (meaning same, strength, distance), the muscles are used to push up or pull the weights, whether they are dumbbells or barbells and can be adjusted to meet the required amount of weight that you may require and are easy to grip. Some forms of weight training exercises do not use isotonic exercises because the muscle force varies as the joint moves through the motion, but the force remains constant.

There are two basic types of exercises, strength training Exercises and aerobic exercises. Aerobic exercises increases your heart rate through rapid movement of large muscles. The two type of aerobic exercises are: Weight-bearing – such as walking jogging or skipping, this sort of exercise is where muscles will work against the force of gravity. The other is Non-weight-bearing – gravity is non existent in this type of exercise, these are exercises such as swimming or riding a bike. Strength training exercises are used mainly to increase the tone, power and efficiency of the muscles by toning isolated muscles against resistance.

When you compare different exercises with aerobic exercise you find that aerobic exercises offer a wider range of exercise to suit your specific needs, unlike other exercises that are basically designed for one particular purpose. Also aerobic exercises can be used in the treatment of a wide range of aliments such as heart problems, diabetes
and arthritis to name a few. So to elaborate on the topic of aerobic exercises versus the rest, it would be fair to say that aerobic exercises stands out way in front of other exercises, and are practiced worldwide.

The best sports coaches take the best care of their athletes

Being a sports coach can be an incredibly rewarding job, even if it is just a part time you can still enjoy the experience of nurturing an individual or a team which has talent and developing them into top level professionals of their sport. Much like a school teacher teaching a child to read and write, you are able to notice a hidden talent in your athletes and being the best out in them, leading them to succeed at their sport.

But what makes a good coach? Experience is no doubt a key factor. Having played a sport for many years you will have learnt many great skills, strategies and tactics from your own coached. This has undoubtedly helped successful managers in the world of Football, Basketball and Rugby. The same can be said for any sport, a coach who understands the game and how it’s played is always going to have the edge over a coach who has learnt everything they know from a book.

Another sign of a good coach is studying the game, as well as personal experience a good coach will study other teams and other coaches for tips. Many professional sports teams will have entire teams of scouts whose job it is to spy on the upcoming opponents to deduce their strategy, it isn’t unheard of for rival football managers to go to each other’s games to get the low down on how the team play. Watching past game videos if they’re available is a great training aid to point out weaknesses and where the team can improve.

The key factor in any sporting coach is the ability to motivate and inspire your team. This is often a tough and rare skill to master, even the poorest performing team need congratulating for positives in their game but also encouragement to improve for next time. Even during a success the more critical coach will reiterate that no one’s perfect and there may have been a time when winning that the team let their guard down and allowed the opponents to score a goal or get a slight advantage.

The final and most underestimated skill a good sporting coach should have is an understanding of the team as individuals. Many players may feel disheartened or that they are lacking in some areas, this happens a lot with younger athletes. They may become so disheartened that they want to quit the sport, a good coach should notice any players that are feeling this way and deal with it appropriately. Enforcing how important they are to the team may not be the advice they are looking for, it’s important to let the player know that they should partake in the sport only if they want to, if they aren’t having fun then maybe they need a change, this may not mean quitting altogether but maybe changing position.

These tips should help you become a better coach, friend and source of inspiration for your players and team as a whole.

Give You Kids The Gift That Keeps On Giving: Swim Lessons

Parents, understandably, do worry about their children's safety in all types of situations, but around water in particular. However, much of that worry can be relieved if you begin early to get training for your child in how to swim and how to be safe around water. For this purpose, there are a wide variety of swim lessons. Boulder, CO parents can sign their children up for classes as early as three years of age and up.

For the very youngest children in the three to five year old range, there are introductory swim lessons. Boulder, CO kids will start with safe classes where the student to swim instructor ratio is very low during swim lessons. Boulder, CO beginning swimmers will start by using assistance from adults and flotation devices to learn how to propel through the water while taking part in these first swim lessons. Boulder, CO children who complete this part will move on to needing less assistance and will learn to move through the water without flotation devices while taking part in these swim lessons. Boulder swim instructors will next give training on stroke form, breathing techniques and body positioning to this youngest group of swimmers.

Children ages six through fourteen can continue to improve their swimming skills through swim lessons. Boulder, CO students who did not learn to swim before age six can now learn in introductory swim lessons. Boulder students who are beginning swimmers and can swim without flotation devices can work on stroke form during swimming lessons. Boulder, CO swimmers will learn how to do the freestyle, backstroke and sidestrokes.

Children will progress through different levels of instruction during swim lessons. Boulder, CO instructors will take those swimmers who have mastered the beginners classes, and continue their education at the intermediate level with swim lessons. Boulder swimmers at this level will work on getting proficient at freestyle, elementary backstroke, backstroke, sidestroke, and breaststroke while taking these swimming lessons. Boulder students will next work on appropriate breathing techniques and body positioning during the swimming lessons. Boulder swimmers will also learn the final competitive swimming stroke, the butterfly stroke, at this level of swimming lessons. Boulder, CO parents can also sign their children up for more advanced children's swimming lessons. Boulder, CO swimmers can build their endurance and learn how to stroke properly even when fatigued. At this time they will also learn about water survival.

Students who would like to swim competitively in high school can also benefit from swimming lessons. Boulder students will learn advanced skills in endurance, technique and turns at this level.

There is an appropriate swim class for children at every skill level.

Basic Information of Gym Equipment

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, and Brad Pitt: these people are so sexy and they own beautiful bodies that they have inspired countless of men in the world to go to the gym to build their muscles. For women, sexy ladies like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry have encouraged them to work out in the gym for a more beautiful and fit body.

In recent years, gyms have become like malls. Hundreds of people come in and out of the gym to work on their fitness. People do not mind that they have to spend more bucks and allot enough time just to go to the gym. There used to be a notion that people go to the gym just because they are vain and superficial. This is not the case anymore as more and more people have developed a gym culture for different reasons. It is no longer an issue of just having that drop dead gorgeous physique. People, young and old, men and women, go to the gym to be healthier.

Because gyms are one of the most frequented places in the country right now, they have to be complete with gym equipment. It will be a huge disappointment and a big hassle if your gym does not have the machines and facilities you need for your workout. After all, you need several machines to work on different parts of your body.

One example of gym equipment is a weight training bench. It looks like an ordinary bench but its purpose is to assist you in your weight training. To strengthen your muscles some more, you also need to have dumbbells and barbells. Dumbbells are of the smaller variety. They come in pairs which you can carry using both of your hands. The barbell is bigger. It has a metal center connecting the two weights you are supposed to life. To be able to lift these gym equipment easily, you need lifting accessories like gloves and single grip handle. The gloves will help protect your palms and hands from the wear and tear and the friction of carrying dumbbells and barbells. There are also arm and shoulder machines that specialize in building those two parts. These include a triceps rope, a v press and lat bar, a bicep arm curler, and a single grip triceps rope, among others.

Cardiovascular exercise is also very important as it focuses on your heart muscles. A treadmill is one of the more common gym equipment that help us improve our cardiovascular endurance. This machine allows us to run and walk in a stationary manner. Stair climber is another one as it gives you the impression that you are, well, climbing a stair. There are also the rowers, bikes and ellipticals to assist us in our cardiovascular exercises. These machines also help us sweat a lot on the way to losing weight. Activities like yoga and Pilates can now also be done in the gym. There are gyms that provide you panel mats. Indeed, these gym equipment have made exercising easier and more fun.

Badminton The Sport Everyone Loves

It’s fast! It’s fun! It’s so easy to learn that even five-year-olds can delight in playing it. More than just a game for families, badminton will soar you to the Olympics if you choose to perfect your skill level!

Badminton has captivated the hearts of the multi-generational family for decades, as the young toddler who hasn’t reached pre-school can play, as well as the grandfather and even the great-grandfather. Even the first-day novice can feel comfortable playing.

In England over 2 million people actively, regularly, play badminton.By combining skill, speed and subtlety, one can become a top pro.

The tools of badminton are simple: a shuttlecock often referred to as the ‘bird’ or the ‘shuttle,’ and a racket that is strung either with gut or synthetic fibre. The racket is usually about 26 inches long and only weighs about 5 or 5 ½ ounces. And, toddlers can handle the same weight racket as the parents -- if their hands reach around the handle. The cost of equipment?

A pack of shuttles and rackets can be purchased for less than $10 each or you can have yours custom made for quite a bit more. The ‘bird’ is super-light, weighing only 4 to 5 grams. The fourteen to sixteen feathers are fixed onto a kid-leather skin, which is then put into a cork head that is about one inch in diameter. The feathers are what slows the bird down toward the end of its flight across the net.

Winter winds blowing don’t stop the badminton lovers. Played indoors with a net, the sport is a year-round possibility. An empty basketball court suffices, and players are ingenious in finding one that is available. Schools have found that even students who are not athletically inclined can enjoy learning and playing badminton. Many schools offer classes from kindergarten on through high school, increasing the skill level as the students grow.

Hand-eye coordination increases, as does depth perception, concentration, and spatial awareness. Older students learn organizational skills and coaching techniques. And after the school years, adults traveling around the globe can find a large Badminton Club in every major city.

Fast! That’s one word that describes the game itself. That little ‘bird’ can travel in excess of 100 kph. Players lurch, twist, jump, run forwards, backwards, and sideways while lunging to flip the shuttle back to the other side.

The pros will travel more than a mile during a match, and cover almost every inch of the court. Because both the shuttle and the racket are so light, the slightest twist of one’s wrist can direct where the bird will fly.

Fun! Delightful fun! Badminton brings much joy and laughter to the players. When they miss a shot and the bird falls to the floor, the standard excuse is, “There’s a hole in my racket!”

Workouts Gym ' 8 Helpful Hints

Workouts at gym facilities should be fun! You are not required to perform every possible exercise available at your health club or gym. Plan to focus on completing one well-executed exercise for each muscle group.

Let's take a look at each of the major muscle groups and one of the workouts. Gym equipment is different at each facility. But certainly you can find appropriate equipment at your gym to perform at least one appropriate exercise for each group. NOTE: If your gym does not have at least one machine to exercise each of the following muscle groups, you probably need to a find a better-equipped gym.

::: Abdominals ::: Practice your best posture when using an ab machine. Keep your abs tight, your neck straight, and your chest up. Focus on your abs as you crunch up and forward. Do not use your arms. The motion is not a sit up ... it's an ab crunch. Keep your lower back flat on the machine. Slowly lower the weight almost to the end, then reverse and slowly return to your beginning position.

::: Triceps ::: When you use the tricep machine (excellent for non gym workouts), you will again need to use correct posture while keeping your back pressed against the machine. Keep your abs tight, your chest up, and elbows in. Slowly lower the weight, making sure to keep your elbows in. Right before you straighten your elbows, gently stop and move the weight back up. When your elbows reach a 90 degree position, gently stop and move the weight back down.

::: Biceps ::: Sit upright on the biceps machine and keep your back pressed against the back pad. Keep your abs tight, your chest up, and elbows in. Anchor your elbows in one position on the pad. Focus on your biceps as you lift the weight straight up. Slowly lift the weight to a 90 degree angle then carefully lower it back down and stop when your elbows are straight, then lift the weight back up to a 90 degree angle.

::: Forearms :: You can use a resistance band hammer curl to work your forearms even in home gym workouts. Your feet and your grip should both be approximately the width of your shoulders. Keep your abs tight, your chest up, and knees bent. Keep your elbows in a stable position next to your sides. Your thumbs should be pointed forward as you lift the weight straight up. Slowly lift the weight to a 90 degree angle then carefully lower it back down and stop when your elbows are straight, then lift the weight back up to a 90 degree angle.

::: Shoulders ::: While sitting on a shoulder press, press your back against the back pad. Always try to keep your abs tight while bending your knees and relaxing your chest. Focus on your shoulders as you push the weight up. Slowly push up until your elbows are almost straight, then slowly reverse the motion. As soon as your elbows are in line with your shoulders, slowly reverse the motion and push the weight back up.

::: Chest ::: Using a chest press machine, press your back against the back pad. Always keep your abs tight and keep your shoulders down while keeping your chest up. Focus on bringing your elbows together while you push the weight out. Push out until your elbows are almost straight, then slowly reverse. When your elbows are in line with your shoulders, slowly reverse the motion and push the weight back up.

::: Legs ::: While sitting on a leg press machine, press your back against the back pad. . Always try to keep your abs tight while bending your knees and relaxing your chest. As you lower the weight, make sure your knees do not move above your toes. You will need to keep your hips back in order to accomplish this. Done properly, you should feel the weight between your hips and your knees. After you become comfortable, push the weight up. Right before your knees are straight, slowly reverse the motion.

::: Back ::: The latest workouts in gyms feature rowing machines. Try to focus on maintaining the natural arch in your back while you are seated on the rowing machine. Keep your abs tight, your chest up, and shoulders back. Bring your shoulder blades together as you pull the weight back. Pull until your elbows are in a straight line with your shoulders, then slowly reverse. Right before your elbows are straight, slowly reverse the motion.

Simply focus on completing one well-executed exercise for each muscle group ..... and keep your abs tight! Sometimes it helps to watch people performing an exercise so you can visualize the correct way to perform it. Take a look at these workouts gym videos .....

Dr. Shivago K. introduced it to Thailand back in Buddah's time, dating back about 2500 years ago. The Pranayama breathing technique is meant for cleansing the body and strengthening the nervous system. Pranayama Raising also helps in boosting the immune system, concentration, and focusing as well as more efficient oxidation of the blood. The massage area it is either on a mat or a firm mattress on the floor. The person is made to practice yoga like positions during the course of the massage. After the session, most people find that the Thai massage has helped them feel both relaxed and refreshed.

The Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu hails from the Japanese words shi, meaning finger, and atsu, meaning pressure. This is in other type of Asian massage that was developed in the Far East, originating in Japan. It's a very popular form of massage that uses thumb pressure, fingers and palms. It works along the energy meridians in the body, similar to that as acupressure. There are tremendous health benefits derived from the Shiatsu massage; benefits such as rebalancing of bone system, enhance balance of the nervous system, improvement in circulatory function and greater flexibility of skin and muscle.

The Chinese Tui Na Massage

Tui Na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy developed over 5000 years ago. This type of massage is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, Chinese herbalism another health related therapies. The essence of this massage lies in the applying of pressure to the body at certain key points. It employs a series of tapping, pressing and kneading with the therapist's palms, knuckles, fingertips or certain implements that will help remove blockages along the meridians of the body.

The end result is the stimulation of the flow of qi (natural respiration of the body) and blood to promote healing. Tui Na Massage is used as a treatment for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as certain non-musculoskeletal conditions. This type of treatment has far fewer negative side effects that many of the modern drug-based and chemical-based treatments use today in our western culture.

The Javanese Massage

The Javanese massage originated from Indonesia. It is another significant type of Asian massage. This uses all parts of the therapist's hand, which includes the knuckles, fingers and palms to knead and massage the muscles. This treatment is a facilitated by using massage oil. The Javanese massage helps release tension, alleviates back pain and helps in the healing of fractures. This is probably the most robust (and even painful) type of Asian massage there is. However, it has tremendous benefits for your overall health and well-being.

Fitness Equipment

Whether you are involved with running a commercial health club, are an entrepreneurial fitness coach looking to start your own personal training studio, or are a home owner looking to build your home gym with quality equipment, you can get commercial grade exercise machines at a fraction of the cost with refurbished fitness equipment. If you are looking for an all-in-one strength training workout, Weider fitness equipment may be the answer that you have been searching for. If you are in the market for home fitness equipment, you might be surprised by the variety of choices available.

Most fitness equipment that you would expect to find in your local gym or fitness centre can now be purchased for home use depending upon the space you have available and the type of fitness equipment you require. Whatever type of home fitness equipment you choose, the most important thing to do is select something that you will find enjoyable, convenient, and easy to use. With so much to choose from, take the time to consider which type of gym fitness equipment you are most likely to use long-term.

If you are the type of person that prefers using fitness equipment for your exercise routines, here are few tips to consider before purchasing. Some of the types of fitness equipment available for use can be classified according the type of exercise for which they are built. It is true that the world of fitness equipment can seem like a maze at times and that there are literally hundreds of different types of fitness equipment pieces that might work well for your home arrangement.

You can hop right out of bed to go use your home fitness equipment – you do not need to make sure that your hair looks all right, and you do not need to waste time and money driving to the gym. When choosing home fitness exercise equipment, you need to concentrate on the three s-areas: strength training for muscle toning, stretching for flexibility, and sprinting or a related activity for cardiovascular fitness. Cybex fitness equipment includes devices for cardiovascular exercise, as well as strength training.

In addition to the aforementioned strength training units, Weider fitness equipment includes a wide variety of weight benches and weights, exercise mats and other accessories. Well-known companies such as Reebok offer a variety of other tools and props to help you to gain the most from your home fitness exercise equipment. Some of the large manufacturers such as Cybex, offer their own fitness equipment leasing options.

Documentation involved when leasing fitness equipment for the first time, includes filling out a credit application form, copies of tax returns for principals, personal financial statements, equipment listing, and business plan copies. Once a machine is chosen for a home fitness program, keeping motivated will often depend on the equipment's ability to grow along with you and your own personal attitude. If a piece of fitness equipment is on demo or display at a store, often it is replaced by a new unit and the demo is removed from the sales floor.

For the best results you should choose at least one piece of fitness equipment from both the cardio fitness equipment & the strength fitness equipment, with a home gym being the recommended piece of equipment for the strength work.

Elliptical machines are one of the most popular pieces of home gym and fitness equipment for cardio workouts now available. A common piece of home fitness equipment is the home gym. While in the past it may have been standard advice when purchasing home strength training equipment to buy a multi-station gym, the latest concept in the fitness industry however is functional training and functional training equipment.

Massage Therapy And Your Foot

While many of us have experienced having our bodies and necks massaged and soothingly rubbed there are very few of us who think that our feet might need this pampering too. A foot massage is the best type of pampering that we can give our tired and aching feet.

You can give your feet a soothing foot massage or ask a friend to help you have a foot massage. To start your foot massage you will need to have your feet cleaned. You can soak your feet in Epsom salts, lavender or peppermint oil for 10 minutes in a warm water foot bath.

Dry the feet thoroughly and make sure that even the area between your toes is dry. Once the feet are beginning to dry you will need to rub some soothing oil on your feet. Hold one foot in your lap and use one hand to support this foot.

With the other hand you should begin to massage the top of the foot. For this part of the foot massage you will need to use your thumbs. Slow, firm, stroking motions that start at your toes and move upwards to the ankles are the best way to start this foot massage.

When you are near the ankles the foot massage will follow the same path back down to your toes. The return journey should be accompanied by slow stroking with the thumbs providing the required massage. The pressure that is applied at the toes should be lighter than at the ankle. You will need to repeat this foot massage 5 times.

Next in a cupping motion you will need to gently hold the heel of your foot. With your free hand hold the top of the foot and gently rotate the foot. The first rotation should be done clockwise and next anticlockwise.

Repeat this step about 4 times to relax, calm and de-stress your aching foot and ankle joints. This foot massage must be done gently so that you don't end up hurting your foot as a result of the foot massage.

When you have completed rotating the foot you will need to give your soles a really soothing foot massage. This part of the foot massage begins at the base of your big toe. The foot massage for the toes starts with the big toe.

Once your big toe has been given a de-stressing massage, the foot massage will then move towards the other toes. Gentle rolling motions can provide the ball of your foot a relaxing foot massage.

By the time your foot massage will have been carried out on both of your feet, you will have calmed down and your day's stresses will have vanished as well. The added bonus is that your feet are all ready for walking around your home with no aches or pains to be felt.

The 4 Basics of a Basketball Game

Learning any sport takes some time and plenty of practice; but the best way to learn a sport is to get to know the basics first. In basketball there are not too many difficult things to remember. In fact, there are four basic ideas that you should familiarize yourself with. This will allow you to understand the game.

When you understand the game a little better you will be able to learn additional skills and moves more easily. Having a good understanding allows you to be able to pick up the game quickly because you will understand better why you need to move a certain way or what importance there is to each position.

Basketball Basic One: Time

Basketball games are either played in halves or quarters, depending on the league. The time of each half or quarter is dependent upon the league as well. The NBA plays in 12 minute quarters, college basketball is played in 30 minute halves and high school games are played in 8 minute quarters.

There is usually a fifteen minute break at half time. The clock stops when the ball is not in play. Also there are 5 minute overtime periods allowed, if needed. These rules about time are usually the same throughout all leagues.

Basketball Basic Two: Team

A basketball team has 12 players on the roster. Five players will be on the court during play. The coach can trade out players as needed, but only when the clock is stopped. There must be at least five players per team in order to play a regulation game.

Players wear a uniform that consists of shorts and a jersey. The uniform is usually loose fitting to allow for good movement. The jersey will have a number on the front and back. Some leagues may also include the last name on the jersey. The uniform is made in the color or colors of the team. Another important part of the uniform is a pair of sneakers that offer good ankle support.

Basketball Basic Three: Equipment

The game of basketball requires a hoop and a ball. Most league games also use a scoreboard. The hoop is usually at a height of 10 feet from the court and 4 feet from the baseline. The court is usually made of wood if it's indoors. Outdoors courts are usually asphalt. The official regulations for balls are 28.5 inches in diameter with a weight of 20 ounces for women and 29.5 inches in diameter with a weight of 22 ounces for men.

Basketball Basic Four: Rules

The main goal of a basketball game is to score more points then the opposing team by making baskets. The rules surrounding how you do this are pretty straightforward.

- The ball must stay within the court at all times in order to be in play.
- Both feet have to be moving when dribbling.
- Your hand cannot go under the ball when dribbling.
- You can only stand still with the ball if you keep your feet planted. Once a foot steps you must dribble.
- The ball can not go back down the court once past half court.
- You can not dribble with both hands.
- The ball can not be caught when dribbling and held.

There are other rules, but these are the very basics. The more complex rules govern conduct and violations. Understanding these simple points is a great way to introduction to a really fun game.

Sports Apparel Offers Ultra Comfort Possibilities

There are many types of casual wear that people can use to wear and sports apparel offers ultra comfort possibilities that make a fashion trend statement that is widely recognized and accepted at many colleges throughout the United States. College students love to wear t-shirts that sport the name of a major league team on them.

Some college students play on college football teams and have grown used to wearing the over-sized jerseys when they perform a variety of tasks throughout the day. This sports apparel style of clothing stands up to a rigid amount of wash cycles and wears as well on the football field as it does on the street. The color choices in sports apparel are what make these clothing options the pick of the day when it is time to get dressed for college classes.

A typical day on campus can require many students to run from class to class and athletic running shoes serve dual duty for students that are running behind schedule. There are many major brands of running shoes available and this type of sports apparel is what ties an athletic wardrobe together and gives the wearer a sense of dressing in the height of fashion. No other shoe will work well with sports pants.

Sports apparel is so popular among college students that other forms of apparel on campus seem out of place. Students prefer sports apparel because some sports allow extra room and do not require a belt. Students are more comfortable when they don sports apparel each day and this relaxed atmosphere allows them to concentrate on coursework without worrying about whether they look great.

Students will use the free time after classes to visit shopping malls and other stores that sell the latest sports clothing and accessories. Sports apparel shops offer one-stop shopping opportunities and college students really appreciate being able to select a wide assortment of sports apparel styles in one place. The extra time can be spent studying or watching sports games on television.

Some students do not even have to leave the dorm to go shopping for sports apparel. There is a tremendous assortment of sports apparel shops that can be accessed through an internet link and many of these stores offer deep discounts to shoppers that choose to shop online. The free shipping offers attract many college bound clothes buyers because every dollar saved can be used for other purposes.

Determining what type of massage table is right for you and your client will factor and to the things that you should need while doing each massage. For instance, you may need side pockets for your table, which will make it more accessible to move around your client and still be able to get the massage oils and cranes that you need as well as other products that may be involved. It is normal to be completely undress during a full body or a Swedish massage, but can be avoided or Ousley is not necessarily if the client does not want that. If clients prefer to wear panties or breeze during size. And should not be pushed upon the client to do otherwise. Remember each and every client should be a what to wear whatever they choose, regardless of the therapist or the type of massage that they have done.

A good massage therapist will instruct each and every detail of the massage and give the client especially a new client. A brief description of what is expected of them and what will happen. Personal Wellness Program

Personal Wellness Program by Libby

Having a personal wellness program has become a concern for more and more people. The problem is many people do not know where to begin a wellness program. Here are a few keys to maintaining a personal wellness program:

Know and understand your current health situation. Do you have a proper assessment of your current state of health? Do you have a bad cholesterol problem? Or maybe you have good cholesterol? Do you gain weight easily? Or do you have a hard time keeping weight on? Has your overall health been getting worse, stayed the same or has it been getting better?

Taking time out for yourself is important to your (and your family’s) well being. Do you take out personal time for yourself everyday? If you fail to support your personal wellness program with alone time you may experience burnout. Burnout can affect your personal wellness and that of your family. The results of this can have a lasting residual effect on your families’ health and wellness.

Getting proper rest and sleep should be a part of your personal wellness program. Do you know how many hours of sleep you need a night? Can your body function on four hours of sleep a night? Or maybe you need eight hours? Make sure you’re getting the proper amount for your personal wellness. Not having enough rest can make you susceptible to illness, irritability and lack of concentration. There are many more problems that can arise if you neglect sleep.

Managing stress affectively in your life will help you maintain your personal wellness program. Do you know what stresses you out? How can you avoid that stress? If you can’t avoid certain stresses how can you better cope with stress? Find healthy ways to channel your stress so you don’t internalize it. Internalizing stress is what affects your health negatively.

Getting proper exercise is a big part of your personal wellness program. What kind of exercise and fitness do you currently get on a weekly basis? Did you know walking just 10 minutes a day is beneficial for your health? You don’t have to spend hours in the gym a day. You can ride a bike, walk a round of golf, walk the dogs around the block and you can even go to the gym. The key is making exercise a regular part of your personal wellness program. You will feel better and stronger, reduce stress and function at a higher level of energy.

Supporting your body with proper foods and nutritional supplementation are essentials to your personal wellness program. What kinds of foods do you eat on a daily basis? Stay away from fried foods, sweets, sodium and salts, fatty foods and empty carbs. Empty carbs are foods like white potatoes, white rolls and bread, cookies and cakes and foods that lack density and fiber. Support your diet with dense carbs like peanuts or almonds, corn tortillas and green vegetables. Another important aspect of making sure your body gets all the nutrients it needs is finding good nutritional supplements. Unfortunately eating a good balanced diet in this day and age does not get your body all the nutrients that it needs. Do your research and find out about supplements that will increase your optimal health and fit your personal wellness program.

Where are You Getting Your Sports Equipments?

Sports equipment is a very wide term to denote a variety of sports goods used for playing different games. The history of the sports equipment dates back to the time when the first Olympics were held, it was then that people had seen the equipments of high quality. Javelin was among the most favorite sports equipment as it was even used as a tool to be used in wars.

Majorities of sports are invariably ball games or in other words, the games played which are played with a ball. Some of the classic examples of ball games include badminton, baseball, basketball, cricket, hockey, football, tennis, billiards and volleyball. However it is to be noted that the make up of the ball is different for different games.

Apart from the ubiquitous use of the ball, sticks are used for games such as hockey, bats are used for baseball and cricket clubs are used predominantly for golf. Stumps and bails are chiefly used in cricket. Nets are necessary for games like tennis, netball, volleyball and badminton.

Protective equipments such as helmets, mouth guards, shin pads, thigh pads, gloves and cups are used in many games including cricket. Protective equipments are also worn for sports like motor sport, ice hockey, American football etc. Protective equipments are needed for all games where there is a risk of injury through collision of players or other objects. Footwear for sports is also needed for most varieties of sports.

Every day thousands of people across the world use the Internet to find information on sports equipment, to get details of sports goods manufacturers and retailers to buy sports equipment directly online in a quiet environment

If you're passionate about a sport, there are plenty of ways that you can get the items that you need at low cost. First of all, if you want to experiment playing a game to determine whether the game suits you, it is best borrow sports goods for a few days. If you really like the game and believe that you have the required talent to progress with that game, then you can go ahead to buy them.

One of the best known ways to buy sports equipments at reasonable prices is to visit yard sales, or Craig list or online auctions. When you adopt these routes, you can sometimes find high quality equipment for bargain prices. Your other option for procuring inexpensive sporting equipments is to be alert and watch for equipment at discount stores.

If you are not sports professional and only take part in sports more as a leisure activity, you can go for cheaper brands of less quality. You can often find good deals at most sports goods stores both at the beginning and end of the sports season. Although it may sound euphemistic, the best way to save money on sporting goods is by buying quality equipments at higher prices. Because this means you will pay less in the long run as these equipments will last much longer. There are wide ranges of sports goods available at a comparatively low cost.

Sports Training With Proper Shoes

You always see big sports brand names being flashed on TV during huge sporting events. Usually, the star sports person wears a brand new pair of branded shoes to compete in the event. The results are usually quite impressive. After all, these are professional athletes. Impressed with the results, you go out and buy similar shoes, thinking that perhaps they will help you achieve better results.

This is a common mistake made by many inexperienced sports people. The shoes that are worn by professional athletes during competitive events are usually special shoes. In many cases, these shoes are tailor made for the athletes. Major sports companies can afford to do so because they are sponsoring the athletes. One good result from the athlete is probably better than a hundred advertisements. At the end of the day, results do sell. That is a fact of life.

But sports people also need to understand that results don't just come from shiny shoes. Technology plays a part, but it's just one part of the puzzle. The other part of the puzzle is training. And that's where you will spend the majority of your time - training and preparing for the upcoming sports event.

Imagine having to train five to six times per week for a competitive event. Each training session can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours, depending on the intensity of the training. For this reason, you definitely need to have the right sports shoes to help you sustain the level of intensity.

The actual sports event could be sprinting 400 meters, or running a 10 Km marathon. But bear in mind that when you are training for an event, not every training session is a 400 meter sprint or a 10 km run. You will likely be involved in a program that requires you to build muscle, endurance, etc.

In other words, being prepared means having the right shoes for various training purposes. In the market today, there are all kinds of specialized shoes - running shoes, sprinting shoes, street shoes, indoor court shoes, basket ball shoes, and more. You need to choose the appropriate shoe for the training program that you are engaged in. For instance, if your training program involves 2 sessions of weight training, 1 session of endurance training (jogging), and an additional 1 session of sprinting training, you will probably need 3 pairs of shoes. One pair of gym shoes, one pair of jogging shoes, and one pair of spiked shoes (for sprinting).

If you find it too much of a hassle to wear different shoes for different training sessions, an alternative would be to consider wearing all purpose shoes such as cross trainers. Cross trainers allow you to have a wider range of movements - forward, backwards, and lateral. So you can wear them to play different sports. But bear in mind that the comfort level and the performance of cross trainers will not be as good when compared to wearing specialized shoes.

Training wise, perhaps that is acceptable. For the actual event, you definitely need to wear a pair of specialized shoes for greater competitiveness.

Choosing The Right Sports Gear And Apparel

As Reese Witherspoon's character in Legally Blonde says "Endorphins make you happy." This statement propelled a lot of people to get into sports because aside from exercise sports also produce endorphins. In this increasingly cynic world, we all need a dose of endorphins to keep us in within a positive perspective.

There are so many sports to choose from so there is no excuse to get into sports. The perpetual I can't can be eradicated when you are staring at hundreds of sports up for bid. The key here is to try and try until you find that one perfect sport that you will be so passionate about. In the end, more than the endorphins that will make you happy you will thank your chosen sport for an overall better life.

It all starts with trying out a sport. You can try it alone or drag along a few willing friends to make it more fun. If it does not work the first time then try it for one more time, if it still doesn't give you the kind of passion you want to feel then move to another sport. If club hopping ahs become such a phenomenon then why not sports hopping. Eventually there will be that one sport that no matter how sore your body feels can still leave you wanting for more. When you have done hat, it is time to look for the right sports gear and sports apparel.

Just like in business, you have to suit up for when you got to the local gym or the health club. So look around and observe what the other people are wearing. If you like what you see and want to be safe then buy exactly the same set but try to accentuate it with your own touch by choosing more vibrant colors for instance.

The most important thing is that you choose a comfortable sports apparel so it would be easier to do those winning moves. As for purchasing the right sports gears, you might have to check with your trainer or any person knowledgeable about the sport you want to pursue before making a purchase.

Sports gear affect a performance a lot so buy those that are right for your level anyway you can always advance in terms of capability and by then you can already spend more gears because of more intricate technologies needed.
