Teaching Kids Fitness Training

Today, kids fitness training is important more so than in years past, because kids do not always have the exercise or healthy meals that they need. This has become a problem with obesity and poor health conditions. Some fitness centers even offer the services of a personal trainer for children.

There is another way to keep kids healthy without spending money on personal trainers and fitness centers. Most recreation departments and schools have programs set up during the year for kids to workout, play group games, and just do things that interest them.

Recreation Department Activities

Recreation departments offer after school, evening, and weekend activities for kids and families. This is the perfect time for kid fitness training to begin. There is no time like the present to start a healthy lifestyle for children. Since kids usually only go to school where they sit in a classroom except for gym class, they may need some extra-curriculum activities where gym teachers work with the child doing some form of fitness training. This may be gymnastics, swimming, or even some sports game such as indoor volleyball, golf lessons, or basketball.

School Programs

Schools recognize the need for kids fitness training and offer activities such as football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and golf as a way to get them involved with sports and fitness. These activities also require traveling if the kids are performing in sport activities. The children learn responsibly, fitness, and how to eat healthy. They also learn about things in life other than video games, drugs, and drinking.

There is also cheerleading and band for fitness. Most parents do not consider band a fitness program, but it is because the kids have to learn how to breathe properly and practice good posture. Bands also perform for parades and other events that require movement.

If school programs and recreation department programs are not what you want for your child, you can check with many fitness centers that offer programs for kids. These programs are geared more towards cardio and strength training. They are all monitored and assessed while the kids are enrolled. Kids will have to keep on a routine to see a life change. Parents also need to be supportive and make sure that they continue to attend sessions.

Karate and Other Type Programs

Karate is another form of fitness training that teaches the kids life values and another form of art. With these programs, the children learn self-discipline, which is needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These programs are beneficial for all kids that need some fitness and discipline in their lives.

Fitness Training Exercise for Weight Loss

All my life as what i had been experience when i had a weight problem . The part of the problem is genetics and another part is poor eating habits. I had accepted this as my way of life, until our daughter started also to have a weight problem. We discussed our weight and decided that we would work on the issue together. Along with eating healthier we started fitness training. We all could use a bit more fitness training in our lives. Those who do not certainly know who they are. As for the rest of us, getting into shape is instant. Well, that is if you want to live a long and healthy life without the burdens of high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, and heart failure. Yeah, you pretty much heard me correctly. This is why I adopted a great fitness training program.

Both of us changed significantly when we started our new way of living tow years ago. The fitness training has not only toned our muscles and reduced our weight, but it has also improved our self esteem. I didn't realize myself having a low self esteemed before starting fitness training, but i realize that many of the decision in my life have centered on my weight. I have been involved with countless diets over the years. I have arthritis so I often used this as a reason to not consistently exercise. All of that changed by being motivated to help my daughter and by finding fitness training that was right for me.

After we started dieting, my daughter and I joined a health club. The club employs several personal trainers, but we thought we would develop our own program. One day as when we started using the fitness equipment one of the trainers started giving my daughter tips on her posture as she was using the treadmill and started talking to us about important posture in fitness training. He also told us that we should include weight lifting to build strength in our upper bodies. My daughter thought it would be fun to have a full fitness training session with the personal trainer so we signed up for a time the next week.

And that was the beginning of our transformations. Having a professional guiding us was extremely helpful. We worked harder at the fitness training while at the club and we were more motivated to walk and bike on the days that we were at home. After two years we have both lost weight and have toned our muscles. We have also grown much closer to each other because we openly discuss the concerns about our weight. I believe that the fitness training kept us motivated at first and now the positive effects of the weight loss are keeping us committed to our new way of life.

We all know that it is possible to love your fitness training regime. I integrated a regular training ritual into my weekly fitness training program. This offers me better self-defense skills and a good cardio workout. For all you guys out there, this is the ultimate way to bulge up. And NO it's not steroids! The funny thing about steroids is that a lot of guys take them and don't even gain any muscle mass whatsoever. You need to do some heavy weight training to get stacked. You have to push those muscles and empty them that will causes the fibers to tear and grow back bigger and stronger.

It's funny because not too long ago I changed my fitness training program. After doing some intense research on the web, i have found out that i was doing too much. Can you believe that? I needed to cut my weight training. I pushed it to the limits with three chest exercises and a total of 12 sets. This was wrong! Not the exercises or sets themselves, but the three times per week. I should have been doing this once each week. Your muscles need that 7 day period in between to heal and grow. Without proper recovery, you're wasting your time.

8 Key Training Principles For Fitness And Sports Training

The 8 Training Principles are research-based guidelines that can help you accelerate your training progress and optimize your results. Knowing how to apply these principles gives you an educated basis on which you can make informed decisions about designing your fitness or sports training program. The principles can also help you evaluate the merits of fitness equipment and personal training services.

All of the principles complement each other. For best results, they should be applied in concert throughout every phase of training.

1. Principle of Specificity suggests that your body will make adjustments according to the type of training you perform and in the very same muscles that you exercise. How you train determines what you get.

This principle guides you in designing your fitness training program. If your goal is to improve your overall level of fitness, you would devise a well-rounded program that builds both endurance and overall body strength. If you want to build the size of your biceps, you would increase weight loads on bicep curls and related exercises.

2. The Principle of Overload implies that you must continually increase training loads as your body adapts over time. Because your body builds and adjusts to your existing training regimen, you must gradually and systematically increase your work load for continued improvement.

A generally accepted guideline for weight training is to increase resistance not more than 10% per week. You can also use percentages of your maximum or estimated maximum level of performance and work out within a target training zone of about 60-85% of maximum. As your maximum performance improves, your training loads will increase, as well.

3. The Principle of Recovery assets that you must get adequate rest between workouts in order to recuperate. How much rest you need depends upon your training program, level of fitness, diet, and other factors.

Generally, if you perform a total body weight workout three days per week, rest at least 48 hours between sessions. You can perform cardio more frequently and on successive days of the week.

Over time, too little recovery can result in signs of overtraining. Excessively long periods of recovery time can result in a detraining effect.

4. The Principle of Reversibility refers to the loss of fitness that results after you stop training. In time, you will revert back to your pre-training condition. The biological principle of use and disuse underlies this principle. Simply stated, If you don't use it, you lose it.

While adequate recovery time is essential, taking long breaks results in detraining effects that may be noticeable within a few weeks. Significant levels of fitness are lost over longer periods. Only about 10% of strength is lost 8 weeks after training stops, but 30-40% of endurance is lost in the same time period.

The Principle of Reversibility does not apply to skills. The effects of stopping practice of motor skills, such as weight training exercises and sport skills, are very different. Coordination appears to store in long-term motor memory and remains nearly perfect for decades. A skill once learned is never forgotten.

5. The Principle of Variation implies that you should consistently change aspects of your workouts. Training variations should always occur within ranges that are aligned with your training directions and goals. Varying exercises, sets, reps, intensity, volume, and duration, for example, prevents boredom and promotes more consistent improvement over time. A well-planned training program set up in phases offers built-in variety to workouts, and also prevents overtraining.

6. The Principle of Transfer suggests that workout activities can improve the performance of other skills with common elements, such as sport skills, work tasks, or other exercises. For example, performing explosive squats can improve the vertical jump due to their common movement qualities. But dead lifting would not transfer well to marathon swimming due to their very dissimilar movement qualities.

7. The Principle of Individualization suggests that fitness training programs should be adjusted for personal differences, such as abilities, skills, gender, experience, motivation, past injuries, and physical condition. While general principles and best practices are good guides, each person's unique qualities must be part of the exercise equation. There is no one size fits all training program.

8. The Principle of Balance is a broad concept that operates at different levels of healthy living. It suggests that you must maintain the right mix of exercise, diet, and healthy behaviors. Falling out of balance may cause a variety of conditions (e.g., anemia, obesity) that affect health and fitness. In short, it suggests all things in moderation.

If you go to extremes to lose weight or build fitness too quickly, your body will soon respond. You could experience symptoms of overtraining until you achieve a healthy training balance that works for you.

For fitness training, balance also applies to muscles. If opposing muscles (e.g., hamstrings and quadriceps in the upper legs) are not strengthened in the right proportions, injuries can result. Muscle imbalances also contribute to tendonitis and postural deviations.

Get Back on track with a Personal Fitness Trainer!

One of the most honest assessments for most of us is that we're procrastinators. We'll delay and wait for as long as possible especially if what needs done are lifestyle changes. Take for example the need for more exercise.

We're a nation of people that sign up at the local health clubs, buy all the expensive equipment then proceed to go round and round the parking lot looking for a close spot so we don't have to walk so far. Come on, you know that's true! Who hasn't seen people at all stores traveling the equivalent of several miles looking for that just right close parking spot.

One thing that seems to work however is to obtain the services of a personal fitness trainer. Fitness trainers typically will be found in almost every gym but can be located by simply calling a cardiologist. Many highly qualified and skilled lifestyle people are associated with cardiologist. Cardiology by the way is the heart doctor, which is what we'll all be needing if the snack foods aren't replaced with healthier foods. LOL

A fitness trainer will create a health and exercise plan that will then be monitored for progress. By having someone holding us accountable, the potential for success is greatly increased.
While we're on the subject of success, we should also practice what we preach and enforce the same type of healthy choice lifestyle on the rest of the family. After all, didn't someone once say that misery lover company. :o)

Seriously, here are a few ideas that can help get all of us and our families back into some shape other than "round"

1 Explain the difference between healthy and not so healthy food choices but DO NOT NAG. The idea is to make better choices most of the time not be perfect!

2 Prepare healthy meals. Quit the burger and taco runs and calling that dinner. One of the biggest problems with our diets isn't that we eat to much but that it's the wrong kind of foods. And those wrong kind of foods are in most cases sold by corporate conglomerates looking for profits not a healthy customer.

3. Never use food as a reward. If food is a big part of some outing, (popcorn at the theater) start to change that behavior by having other, more healthy snacks available. Our family would buy candy and oil laden popcorn at the movies and still do but in much smaller quantities. We lower the amount of the bad foods by bringing in bags of those small baby carrots to munch on. It's now preferred by many of the kids and are considered a movie snack!

4. When you can walk to do something, do it. Don't just get into the car to go a couple of blocks.

A personal fitness trainer can go a long way to helping with ideas like these. Interview trainers and look for one that's not interested in changing your world overnight. The best personal trainer is one who sees the progress and works to see those little successes turn into major lifestyles changes.
